Marketing & Business Development Intern, Grant County Economic Growth Council (Accelerate Indiana Internship Program)

You will report mainly to the Marketing and Communications Director, but you will be assigned some tasks by the other team members during your employment. The primary duties of this position are:
Opportunity to join tours of local manufacturers, buildings, and properties as well as attend City and County Council meetings and other meetings with elected officials and stakeholders
Develop and implement marketing strategies and plans for various Growth Council programs, events, and initiatives; specifically assist the Marketing Director in
- growing Grants for Grads (program that offers financial incentive to individuals who choose to relocate to Grant County)
- increasing website traffic (i.e.updating and creating website content)
- developing marketing reports (Facebook, Instagram, Website traffic analytics etc.)
Develop and implement marketing campaigns for promoting Grant County as great place to live, work, and start a business
Keep social networking sites up to date (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
Communicate with Growth Council stakeholders (email campaigns, business visits, send letters, manage website content)
Assist in the planning and execution of Growth Council events (e.g., Local Elected Officials Dinner; Manufacturing Luncheon; Downtown Marion Roundtable; Business Competition Plans etc.)
Create, implement, and analyze surveys for a variety of audiences (event feedback, data collecting, organizational strategy etc.) and report on the results at an executive committee meeting or board meeting
Write press releases, newspaper articles, and blogs to update community on current events
Design work to update/create invitations, brochures, presentations, flyers, website content, social media graphics for Growth Council marketing material
Manage basic clerical duties (answering the phone, greeting and directing guests, stuffing and mailing envelopes, filing, etc.)
Desired qualifications:
- Senior student or graduate preferred, though all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply
- Marketing/Communications/Business or related major
- Minimum GPA of 2.7 on 4.0 Scale
- Excellent communication & writing skills
- Must be able to work on PC and MAC platforms
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel & Power Point)
- Exhibit interest in community/county affairs
